4 Essential Steps To Start An Online Business And Travel The World!

It’s no surprise that we’re major coffee addicts — and our hearts have a special place for coffee shops that nail it with ambiance, decor, coffee and of course, strong wifi.

One of our absolute fave things about being a location-independent girl boss in Chiang Mai is the ridiculous amount of ah-mazing, unique coffee shops to work from! Since the coffee culture is so strong here (and after a day or two at some of the local coworking spaces) we actually much prefer to work from cafes rather than a coworking space here.

You could easily try a new coffee shop each day of the month BUT, we know you’ve got work to do (and delish coffee to drink) so we’ve done all the groundwork for you.

Below you’ll find seven coffee shops that we loved — which means that we visited a ridiculous amount of coffee shops during our time during our caffeined research 😉

So without further adieu, here’s our small but oh-so mighty list of our fave coffee shops to work from in Chiang Mai:

THESIS COFFEE

Thesis is hands down our go-to spot for wifi and caffeine fuel. First off, the clean, industrial-cool decor: black modern chairs, lots of natural light and cute little succulents #obsessed.

They tick all the boxes for: top-notch wifi, delicious pastries (gimme gimme!), good coffee, a variety of seating options (from high top bars, to single desks & long wooden tables) and finally, plenty of outlets. You can easily and oh-so-enjoyably crank out a few hours of work here. Bring a sweater as they like to crank the A/C!

AB’PETITE CAFE

This adorable cafe in the Santitham area just oozes coziness from the moment you walk in: from fresh flowers, hanging lights, large windows and white-washed walls. Ab’ Petite is a little quiet oasis in the city with good wifi, good food, a handful of plugs and fairly-good coffee. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and they even encourage laptop dwellers! This is a great afternoon spot as they open at 11am!

ARTISAN CAFE

Artisan is a secret coffee shop gem tucked away in Chiang Mai. The place is so freakin’ cool — from the dark wood tables, curated antiques, hanging plants, black window panes and herringbone floors. They have a large menu of delish specialty coffees, plenty of wood tables to crank out work and good wifi.

WAKE UP

Wake Up is a chain of modern, brightly lit cafes that are open 24 hours a day! They have multiple locations around the city which are perfect if you really need to work while burning the midnight oil. They are usually quite filled with students from the University, but most are large with plenty of seating and wifi to keep ya going.

COTTON TREE COFFEE

If Joanna Gaines opened a coffee shop in Chiang Mai, it’d probably look like Cotton Tree 😉 It’s white exterior, white shiplap walls, black exposed lighting, wood tables and greenery are the perfect scenery for you to feel inspired to get a few hours of work done. This spot is small but mighty, and has a long row of high-top window seats at the bar if that’s your thing.

BURISTRO AT BURI SIRI

Buri Siri is a boutique hotel that also doubles as a cafe and coworking space for digital nomads. The best part? They have strong wifi and a large pool for you to take a dip if you’re in need of a break — yes please! To access the space, you’ll need to purchase a day pass.

BEST CAFES FOR GIRL BOSS DATES

Of course, we needed a separate list of cafes that are specifically worthy of a coffee date or a meet up with an online girl boss! It’s a whole new category of cafe 😉

THE BARISOTEL

The Barisotel is majorly Insta-worthy with it’s exceptionally all-white, minimalist decor, light wood furniture and delicate flower arrangements. Although their wifi isn’t amazing to do a ton of work (perhaps you just need an hour of emails?), it is the perfect place to meet for a girl boss date!

RISTR8TO LAB

This is the go-to coffee shop in Chiang Mai — and rightfully so. Ristr8to is world-famous for winning latte art championships (who even knew that was a thing?) and they serve up the most unique coffee combos I’ve ever seen. It gets quite busy so it’s not a great work spot but it’s oh so cool to meet up for a girl boss date while enjoying the outdoor patio…and oogling at everyone’s coffee orders 😉
